Janet Dare - Professional Astrologer

With a background in International Marketing, a back problem caused me to stop, reflect, and re-direct my energies towards natural medicine, and after a 4-year course, I qualified as a Medical Herbalist in 1988. It was through the person who helped my recovery that I was introduced to the world of the esoteric, which was to arouse my initial interest in astrology.

Having gained the Certificate with the Faculty of Astrological Studies in 1995, I then spent several years exploring not only astrology, but also crystal healing, the tarot, and the ancient art of Decumbiture, a traditional form of medical astrology, devised in the 17th Century by William Lilly and Nicholas Culpeper to treat patients with herbs, which used the birthchart of the illness. Along the way, I taught and lectured in herbal medicine and astrology, both in the UK and abroad.

The focus of my work with clients is towards greater self-understanding, looking at personal strengths and weaknesses in order to help the individual maximise their potential for achievement in the life, whether in relationships, professional vocation, or personal and/or spiritual development. I also combine my medical and astrological knowledge to help clients and patients understand their dis-ease.

I run a private practice for consultations from my home, and also offer classes for small groups interested in learning astrology for themselves. As a Diploma holder of the Faculty of Astrological Studies, London, I adhere to a strict code of ethics and confidentiality.
